Cane Food Cover

The Cane Food Cover is a traditional woven dome handcrafted from natural cane in Sri Lanka, placed over dishes on the dining table to protect food from insects and dust while keeping it accessible between courses. Woven cane food covers have been used in Sri Lankan homes for generations, valued both for their practical function and for the cultural authenticity they bring to the table setting. The dome shape allows good airflow beneath the cover, preventing condensation on hot food. The cane weave is fine enough to deter insects while the openings allow steam to escape, keeping food fresh.
