Sustainably
Made
At Ceylon Cane Crafts, natural cane is our priority. While we also work with synthetic cane for outdoor and high-durability applications, the majority of our collection is built from natural cane sourced from Sri Lanka and the region. We believe in honest craftsmanship - no exaggerated claims, just quality work.
Three Pillars of Our Practice
Material Sourcing
Our natural cane is sourced from regions like Manampitiya in Sri Lanka, and some materials are imported from Malaysia. Since raw materials don't grow in our village of Radawadunna, we work with trusted suppliers to bring quality cane to our artisans. We also source synthetic cane for products that need weather resistance and extra durability.
Honest Production
We apply varnish and polish to our furniture for protection against wood bugs and to achieve the signature cane shine. Our products include cushions and upholstery components alongside cane - not everything we make is 100% natural, and we believe in being upfront about that.
Natural Where It Counts
Natural cane remains a renewable resource that grows back quickly after harvesting. Where possible, we prioritise natural materials. For outdoor and high-wear applications, we offer synthetic cane alternatives that deliver the same handcrafted aesthetic with added weather resistance.

“Cane grows back in three years.
A well-made chair lasts a lifetime.”
